Hangley Aronchick is proud to announce that our Litigation Department has been named Litigation Department of the Year by the Legal Intelligencer.  Our litigators were recognized in the General Litigation category, an award that honors the best litigation practice in a small or mid-sized firm in the entire state and is based on the firm’s 2017 litigation work, as well as important ongoing matters. This is the second time we have won this award; we were similarly honored in 2012.

The Legal Intelligencer noted that the firm “successfully tackled a broad range of litigation for an eclectic set of clients,” and specifically referenced our insurance coverage work and our heavily watched challenge to the Pennsylvania Uniformity Clause in Valley Forge Towers Apartments N. LP et al v. Upper Merion Area School District et al. Additionally, the publication referenced the firm’s key roles in two of Pennsylvania’s most high profile recent matters, the Philadelphia Sweetened Beverage Tax litigation and the Pennsylvania Gerrymandering litigation.

Litigation Department Chair John S. Summers was interviewed by the Legal Intelligencer, and noted “Our litigators are flat-out smart with seasoned judgment; have real experience as trial lawyers; understand the importance of being completely attentive to clients’ needs and expectations; and are efficient in providing effective representation.”

The Litigation Department will be honored at an awards ceremony in June.
