Of Counsel Kyle Heisner represented MoreMarrone in a settlement on the eve of trial with Stephan Zouras LLP in their dispute over $1.8M in attorneys’ fees stemming from a successful class action lawsuit against DuPont. Prior to the lawsuit, MoreMarrone offered to pay Stephan Zouras approximately $335,000 from the fee award but Stephan Zouras claimed it was entitled to at least $573,000. Stephan Zouras filed suit and increased its demand to over $1.4 million under a quantum meruit theory. In the settlement, Stephan Zouras ultimately received $310,000 from the fee award. The settlement avoids further legal battles between the firms, averts a trial and concludes the dispute over attorneys’ fees.
