Hangley Aronchick is proud to announce that attorneys David Pudlin and Michele Fenkel have been recognized with individual professional excellence awards. David Pudlin was recognized for his years of leadership and service with the Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes noteworthy individuals who have helped to shape the legal landscape in Pennsylvania, and Michele Fenkel was named a 2018 Lawyer on the Fast Track, which honors the best attorneys under 40 years old in Pennsylvania.
David Pudlin has served as the President of Hangley Aronchick Segal Pudlin & Schiller since its founding and also serves as the firm’s CEO. He concentrates his practice in tax law, estate planning, and business/employment law and is a member of the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council.
David has served as a lecturer in law at Temple University School of Law and as a faculty member of several Pennsylvania Bar Institute seminars. David has authored numerous tax papers and has served as Chair of the Federal Tax Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association Tax Section and as Editor in Chief of the Tax Section newsletter. David also has served as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Tax Section and as a member of that body’s Governing Council. In addition, David has served as Chair of both the Large Law Firm and Mid-Size Law Firm Management Committees of the Philadelphia Bar Association and as an Executive Committee member of the Association’s Probate Section. David serves as a director of the Anti-Defamation League, for which he is a past Chairman of the Board; as a Board Member of the Bryn Mawr Film Institute; and as a member of the Barnes’ Foundation’s Professional Advisors Council. He also has served as Chair of the Board of Directors of Philadelphia Mural Arts Advocates for four years, and in 2017 was selected as a Philadelphia Business Journal Outstanding Director for his work with that organization. David was chosen as the 2018 Honoree for the Mural Arts Wall Ball in recognition of his service as Board Chair.
Michele Fenkel is a business lawyer with more than a decade of legal practice experience representing public and private companies of all sizes, as well as individuals, in a broad range of business law matters. She adds value for her clients and brings a unique perspective to her work by leveraging her practical business experiences at Goldman Sachs and in helping to operate a non-profit that focused on the 9/11 recovery efforts in New York.
Michele understands her clients’ business needs and often functions as their outside general counsel. She works closely with businesses and individuals in connection with mergers and acquisitions, general corporate and partnership matters, corporate governance, shareholder relations and disputes, employment and restrictive covenant matters, commercial contracts, securities, licensing, and intellectual property matters. In addition to her general corporate practice, Michele represents special committees in evaluations of challenges to merger and interested party transactions.
Michele holds and has held several important leadership positions within and outside the firm. She currently serves as co-chair of the firm’s Hiring Committee, and mentors a number of the firm’s associates. She has also served as a member of the firm’s women’s initiative, office space committee, and website committee. Before becoming a shareholder, Michele was elected by her peers to serve as associate observer to the firm’s Board of Directors. Outside the firm, Michele is an Advisory Council member of Mural Arts Philadelphia, the nation’s largest public art program, dedicated to the belief that art ignites change. She is also a member of LEADERSHIP Philadelphia’s Core Class of 2015, a non-profit organization that mobilizes and connects the talent of the private sector to serve the community.
David and Michele will be featured in a special supplement of the Legal Intelligencer and honored at an awards ceremony in June.
