Hangley Aronchick Segal Pudlin & Schiller shareholder Richard J. Goldstein has been named a Trustee of the Raymond and Gertrude R. Saltzman Foundation. The Foundation is a supporting organization of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, of which Goldstein is a former president. It focuses on grant-making for programs dedicated to serving the elderly Jewish community and Jewish children and families in need, as well as educational and cultural programming. A Trustee of the Foundation must have an exemplary reputation in the community and a broad and current knowledge of the Federation and its priorities. Goldstein’s term as a Trustee will begin January 1, 2014.
Resident in the firm’s Cherry Hill, NJ, and Philadelphia, PA, offices, Goldstein concentrates his practice in real estate and land use law. He has more than 30 years of experience representing developers and lenders, and has been involved in notable developments such as the Cherry Hill Mall, Voorhees Town Center, Moorestown Mall, Ellisburg Circle Shopping Center, Franklin Mills Shopping Mall, Neshaminy Mall, Garden State Pavilions Shopping Center, and several local hospitals.
Goldstein is a former member of the Executive Committee of the Real Property Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association and a former seven-year member and six-year Chair of the Zoning Board of Adjustment of the Township of Cherry Hill. He has served as President, Vice President, and member of the Executive Committee, Allocations and Planning Committees, and the Board of Trustees of the Federation of Jewish Agencies of Southern New Jersey; he also served two terms as General Chairman of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey’s Annual Campaign. He served as a member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of the Katz Jewish Community Center and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Southern New Jersey, and chaired a task force for the Goodwin Holocaust Memorial and Education Center. Goldstein is also the Responsible Attorney for the firm’s New Jersey office.
Goldstein is a graduate of Temple University School of Law (JD, 1977), where he was awarded the J. Howard Reber Memorial Award for excellence in writing for theTemple Law Quarterly. He earned his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Temple University (BA, 1974).
